Where pianos go

Here's the honest part: most old pianos have little resale value, but some still have life. Playable uprights in decent condition are offered for donation first — schools, churches, and community programs occasionally say yes, and you get the receipt when they do. Pianos past saving are recycled for their substantial metal content (that cast-iron plate is real weight) and the rest responsibly disposed of. Either way, it leaves your house safely.
